20 ft ceilings in Bathroom

I have 20 ft ceilings in my bathroom - the bathroom is 10 x 14 it’s basically an open box, but I have a “shelf” about 10 feet up and goes around two thirds of the bathroom.  I have a mini sub and two Era 100 SL speakers in the bedroom right outside the bathroom. 

 

I wanted advice on if I should get the Era 300 and put it on the “shelf” in the bathroom for a fuller sound?  I put one of the Era 100 speakers in the bathroom and it sounds hollow….  I guess I can put the two Era 100 SL’s in the bathroom….  But then I I’d have to get two more speakers for the bedroom….   I’m open for any advice.

A open box that more than likely has very reflective stone or tile walls and floors is going to sound hollow.  Not much you can do about that.

    I have a high mounted 300 Pair in my kitchen, about 15 feet wide, sloped high ceiling, and the back is open.

    I tried 100s and they sounded pretty good but the stereo sweet spot was fairly small and pretty much lost if standing under either, the 300s sounded better in both respects. A bit of experimenting with position found spots that gave a stereo image even when standing directly under either. In my room that was about four feet in from the side walls. 

    Atmos is also very good side to side but mine are too close to the ceiling for the height channel to work. (About 3 inches)

      A stereo pair of Sonos Plays

      • Placed about 6-8 feet apart provide a better stereo image than a single Era 300
      • They are Waterproof vs the Era 300 which is only Humidity Resistant
      • They are portable
      • They can be run off their internal (replaceable) battery or electrical current via their charging base
      • They can also be used as surrounds with a Sonos soundbar and switch back to previous state when removed as surrounds
      • At $568 they are only $89 more than a single Era 300 costing $479

      Although the Era 300 is Dolby Atmos music capable…two are really needed for a true experience. Also, how much time would one spend in the bathroom to listen to Dolby Atmos music 🤔

        I’d be tempted to switch out the outlet that you would normally plug in to to a plug that already has USB built in to it, just so you wouldn’t need a ‘wall wart’, if you’re using a rechargeable speaker. You can purchase USB-A or USB-C wall plugs that add USB ports to the standard electrical plug in types.

          Using an integrated AC and USB outlet would be handy, just make sure you get one that meets the Play's charger needs.

          Play is designed to work with 18W (9V/2A) USB-PD compliant adapters, but 45W (15V/3A) is recommended. Check the W rating on your power block before use.
