When I ask Alexa what time is ti? the reply is 8 hours behind GMT. I have gone into the time and date settings for the play one but the are set at the correct time. How can I get Alexa to announce the correct time?

@UKMedia. That did the trick. I managed to delete the US log in details and type in my UK e-mail address and password. I now have the right location, time and music access. Admittedly Alexa plays remixes of famous songs rather than the song itself, but she'll learn! My Sonos web page has also changed to UK. It had insisted I was US and no matter how many times I changed it, it reverted to US on reopening. Thanks for your patience. Now roll on Spotify, I've had it with Amazon Unlimited.
