You might need to go into your Alexa app connect your BBC account to it. I did that for my mother in law yesterday as she had the same issue.
Thanks, tried that, but still no sound from speakers. This happened to me a while back with some LG Google speakers, the updates were incompatible and completely made those speakers useless.
I really think it's the update that has affected my era 100's. I have tried everything you can think of. I will phone Sonos on Tuesday and if all fails they will go back to Currys PC World as they are within 1 yr of purchase and are now not fit for purpose
Hi @Pundeavon
Welcome to the Sonos Community!
Sorry to hear of this problem you are having with Alexa repeating the command to play BBC content, but not following it.
It sounds like Alexa just needs to be relinked with your Sonos account. Please open the Alexa app and go to More » Skills & Games » Your Skills » Sonos » Disable, then Enable to Use.
I hope this helps.
Hi, thanks for the reply. Tried that, however after a 3hr session on the phone to Sonos help line the situation got partially resolved. However I still when asking Alexa to play BBC Radio 2 it plays BBC West Africa. B To play BBC Radio 2 I have to ask Alexa to use BBC Sounds. Also the playing of BBC West Africa plays when I set both speakers as a group. Individually they will play via BBC Sounds. A hiccup with Amazon Alexa not Sonos. All this after an update.
