Will the new Sonos One stream music directly from a NAS device on the same network?

It will but you can't ask Alexa to access your songs, has to be done via the app..

It should be noted, since some NAS manufacturers are no longer supporting it, that the NAS needs to support the aging (and vulnerable) SMBv1 protocol in order for it to work with Sonos. Some NAS manufacturers are no longer supporting SMBv1 because of vulnerabilities that exist in the protocol. Sonos has unfortunately not updated their products to support the newer versions yet.

Thank you all for the responses. I have the QNAP TS-453, which I believe still supports SMBv1. I'm hoping at some point they make it possible to ask Alexa to play a particular song or artist.
