So I have a Sonos Beam in the master bedroom, and a Sonos One in the ensuite, The space is not huge, sp when you command "Alexa", both are responding.

My understanding was the the Sonos devices with Alexa built in used Amazon's ESP (Echo Spatial Perception) technology that would allow both to listen, then chose the closer one to respond from, just like other Echo devices. This is not working for me. No matter where you are in the room, BOTH respond.

When I called tech support they didn't know what I was talking about and told me I had to mute one of them. Not really a great option or how I intended to use them when I bought them.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Hi

So this is an Amazon piece of functionality (As you say ESP), both devices should listen but then the device with the strongest and clearest recording of the request should respond. Can you please Disable then Enable the Sonos skill in the Alexa App to see if this resolves the issue.
@appizzo88 Did you figure it out at the end? I am interested to have the same setup and was wondering about this...
Hi appizzo88

Since you are dealing with a distance factor you may not be able to affect the listening on the Beam and Sonos One effectively to gain appropriate separation. In the end you may have to disable Alexa on the Sonos One and integrate a Amazon Dot to which you can change the wake word and designate the Sonos One as the favorite speaker. You could still command the Sonos One via the Beam if necessary and/or group them. Just a thought :8

Cheers!
