Hi everyone, I've searched through various topics but I don't think I've found anything. Basically, I first bought two Era 100s and put them in the same room, and with Alexa everything worked perfectly, including the thing I'm interested in: raising and lowering the volume globally with Alexa. The same goes for the physical slider on the speakers... basically, everything perfect. Then I added the third Era 100, but this time I created two rooms: the first with the two Era 100s in stereo, and the second with the single Era 100. Then I grouped them into a group... from now on, after countless attempts, with Alexa I CANNOT make the group volume increase or decrease in unison. Do you have any idea how to fix it? Thanks.

You need to create a Smart Home Group within the Alexa app with a specific name. However, it’s still a bit iffy and not consistent. Using Sonos Voice Control (SVC) is the better option.

Sonos Voice Control can be combined with Alexa.

Sonos Voice Control can be combined with Alexa.

If you mean you can have one do one thing, and Alexa do another...that's exactly what I did. To Alexa: Turn on music/radio/channel. Turn off music. To Sonos: the master volume of the three devices. But if you think about it, it's inconvenient, because, in addition to that, I also connected the room lights to Alexa, and other things.

Is it possible that through rooms and groups, Alexa can't raise and lower the "overall" volume of all groups? It seems absurd to me...that's all I need.

Reading this it should be possible, but it just does not work consistently. My suggestion to use SVC was meant as a work around.

Just curious…What do you mean by “reading this” as it IMO implies there is an imbedded link or at least a reference to some other material. Also, Why are you quoting my post in your response? 😊

I chose this wording to reflect that my answer isn’t based on my personal experience - have used Alexa for an hour or so since I then found out it is still not available on Sonos in my native language, Dutch.

You do seem to have experience with Alexa and grouping, describing it as “still a bit iffy and not consistent”. I could have quoted this part of your post, but quoting your post and then referencing your experience seems easier. I did not mean to imply anything. Please remember English is not my native language. Things might come out differently when you are translating from another language.
