Alexa turns TV on/off, volume up/down, but will not change channel. Receive "Family Room TV doesn't support that.

By channel, do you mean the TV inputs? The Beam will not change channels with your cable or sat box. It can be configured to work with fire tv and do some navigation through voice there. For TV inputs, the Beam is capable of this and it is supported by the CEC commands, but several TV brands, like Samsung on many of their models, do not support it.
