I’ve had an Alexa enabled Play One and got a Beam as a birthday present. I want to buy a second Play One to create a surround experience. Do I need to purchase another Alexa enabled Play One ($199) or can i use the non Alexa enabled version ($150) and get the same result?

If you’re wanting to set them up as Surround speakers, you want one of the same type. There’s two possibilities, a PLAY:1, or a Sonos One....there is no Play one.

In order to stereo pair them, or use as surrounds, they must be the same kind.
