Hi all,

I added a new ROAM 2 to my system last week and cant use Alexa voice control. I can use the sonos voice control, however  when I try and add Amazon Alexa I get the signing into Amazon then repeatedly get try again at he bottom of the app!

My Beam, and the 4 other SONOS speaker work fine with alexa.

Any ideas ?

Hi @Rob Broom

Sorry to hear that you’re having issues adding Alexa. Did you have Alexa added a while before getting the Roam 2 or did you only add it after getting the Roam? I ask because the only issue I can see with adding Alexa is a recent issue.

Currently, there are problems with adding Alexa using some Android devices. If you’re using an Android and didn’t add Alexa to your other speakers recently, then I suspect it’s this issue. There are two workarounds for this:

  • Try a different controller (e.g. an iOS device or a different Android device)
  • Uninstall the Amazon Shopping app during the installation of Alexa on Sonos.

I’ve seen more success with the second workaround, and you can always reinstall the shopping app after adding Alexa. Our team is investigating but we don’t have an ETA on when this will be resolved. For now, try the workarounds and let me know if you’re still unable to add Alexa to the Roam 2.

I hope this helps!
