Echo Dot as a Sonos room
Have multiple sonos components. Recently bought a Sonos one and addes it with Alexa. Working fine and Sinos sees where it is as a room. Just bought an echo dot and added it via alexa app and it controls Sonos speakers fine. Alexa app sees all including echo dot but Sonos app doesnt see echo dot. I didnt try to add it to Sonos as you do a Sonos component. Is it just that it cannot be controlled by the sonos app itself?

That is correct. The Alexa dot is only a voice controller for Sonos not the other way around. The sonos one will appear on the alexa app as both an amazon alexa device and as a sonos device under settings. You should see both devices. You will be able to distinguish them as they will have slightly different names, and one will have, in small font, the word 'online' vs the other won't.
