Does the existing Sonos work with Alexa
I have been told since the anoucment that my investment in Sonos would include Amazon Echo features. Unless I am missing something Sonos has stated that all of my Sonos One are obsolete and I will need to purchase new Sonos Ones if I want Amazon Echo features. Am I missing something? Is this what I just read? Please tell me that my existing Sonos Ones are upgradable?

I think you're confusing the PLAY:1 (which you have) versus the Sonos One, which isn't out yet.
If you have an Amazon Alexa device already in your home, you can control all of your Sonos speakers right now, using it. You do not have to replace your PLAY:1s with the Sonos One in order to do so.
I happen to have 2 dots and an Echo that I use to control my older PLAY:1s, PLAY:3s and a random PLAY:5 gen 1. No extra Sonos purchase necessary.
