Connectivity Issues With Play 1 and Alexa

I am able to connect my Play 1 to my home wi-fi using the Sonos app. I begin with using the S1 app and it leads me to using S2. When I attempt to find the device (Play 1) using the Alexa app, my unit cannot be found. I’ve ensured that I’m on the same network and have tried multiple times. The Alexa app asks during the process if I can control my device using the app and I always answer yes and continue. Please help.
