Can't add alexa to sonos beam

I have installed the beam, enabled the alexa skill and the beam is there as speakers on the alexa app, but when I try to add alexa as a voice assistant in the sonos app it says "there was a problem adding alexa". Any suggestions?

One of the main reasons I bought this was because its smart as it came with alexa so it's a bit annoying to just have a dumb Bluetooth sound bar staring at me

Hi

To be clear the Beam is NOT a BT speaker.

I suggest you (in the order listed):

  1. Delete the Sonos Skill in the Alexa app
  2. Sign out of Alexa in the Alexa App and in Sonos
  3. Delete the Sonos App for your device
  4. Delete the Alexa app from your device
  5. Unplug your Beam
  6. Check your routers admin page for updates and install if available
  7. Reboot your router
  8. Power Cycle your device
  9. Reconnect to Wi-Fi
  10. Install the Sonos app
  11. Install the Alexa App
  12. Plug in your Beam
  13. Follow instructions in Link to setup Alexa on the Beam: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3517?language=en_US
  14. Test your Sonos Beam with Alexa

Let us know how things sort out.
