I cannot find how to turn off the sound Alexa makes after you give a command. Everything I’m reading says go to settings and then sounds and to turn off. Wake word confirmation there is no such setting. Can someone confirm how to turn it off? It’s very loud. I’ve searched both in the Sonos app and the Alexa app. This is for a Sonos Beam.

Hello @BobbyZSD, welcome to the Sonos Community!

You can toggle the wake word chime on or off for Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant. Sonos Voice Control does not use a wake word chime.

Sonos App for iOS or Android

  1. Go to the  Settings menu.
  2. Select the Manage button next to My System.
  3. Select Voice Assistants.
  4. Choose your voice service from the list, then select the name of the room you’d like to modify.
  5. Toggle Wake Word Chime on or off.

Sonos S1 Controller for iOS or Android:

  1. From the  Settings tab, select Services & Voice.
  2. Under Voice, select the name of your voice service in the list.
  3. Under Sonos Products, select the name of the room you’d like to modify.
  4. Toggle Wake Word Chime on or off.

I hope this helps.

Now if we could just do a similar thing with the Sonos voice assistant ‘acknowledgement’ earcon too, that would be helpful .. ‘Hey Sonos, what time is it? (earcon tone) … "it’s 1pm”. I just don’t see the point in having the earcon as Giancarlo often replies anyway.

Would love to be able to disable it.

I’ve done that and it’s still making a loud confirmation sound after it completes an Alexa request.

If you have ‘hfollow up’ mode enabled in the Alexa App, then perhaps try disabling that too. You can also switch Alexa to use “Brief Mode” in the Alexa settings.
