I’m interested in learning about how to properly setup a VLAN for my Sonos products over Wifi for my UDM-Pro.  I’ve seen a lot of info about this - but mostly when it comes to wired Sonos.  I want to separate them via Wifi - and still be able to access them from my phone/pcs with the app.   I know it's possible to do this.  I highly suspect if I can do this it will help me isolate the Sonos devices from potential network issues in general (either them misbehaving on my network or other devices misbehaving and impacting the QoS of the Sonos systems).  Anyone have any guides/suggestions that are up to date as of Q1 2025?  I don’t want to have to resort to hacks such as running a python script or anything like that.  Seems like the UDM Pro should be able to facilitate this with basic network configurations.

Hello @tdroz, welcome to the Sonos Community!

As this is an advanced setup, our documentation is limited and it is difficult for me to provide detailed instructions and advice.

What is mostly pointed out is enabling IGMP Snooping and MDNS in your Ubiquiti settings.

In regards to wired setups you can have a look at our Support Article Configure STP settings to work with Sonos.

With my response, your thread moved to the top of the latest activity list. Maybe another user in our Community with the same network setup can offer you more details.

You can also reach out to our Support Team for live troubleshooting if you are stuck in the process.

I hope this helps.

The ports on the UDM Pro’s don’t support STP. The UBIQUITI controller’s user interface does not make this clear. Don’t wire any SONOS units to the UDM Pro. Yes, there is a STP setting in the UDM, but this is only a default to be passed on to UBIQUITI network switches.

Thanks for the replies.  But again - I am looking to accomplish this over Wifi only.  I don’t have the ability nor want to wire up all my Sonos speakers to the UDM Pro or a switch for that matter.

Its a lot of work for no gain (and usually some pain as the phone is usually not in the VLAN), I recommend not even trying. Uni stuff gives you a solid wifi experience when properly configured, just use it.
