Sonos App Keeps Losing Connection to My Speakers After Update

Hi everyone,

I’ve been experiencing a frustrating issue since updating my Sonos app. My speakers appear in the app initially, but after a few minutes they randomly disappear or show as disconnected even though they’re still connected to my Wi-Fi network.

I’ve already tried:

  • Restarting the router and all Sonos devices
  • Reinstalling the app
  • Resetting the speakers and setting them up again
  • Ensuring all devices are on the same network

The problem keeps coming back, especially when trying to group rooms or switch between music services.

Has anyone else encountered this issue recently? If so, did you find a reliable fix, or is there a specific setting I should check? Any troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Sure sounds like a network issue of some kind. Did you check the wifi interference FAQ? When you reset your router, were the Sonos devices unplugged? I’d highly recommend not resetting the speakers again, essentially all it does is erase log files that Sonos could use to figure out what is going on.

If neither of the above suggestions help, I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

If you powered down ALL Sonos before rebooting the router, then powered them back up that should clear any addressing issues. If not try that before getting more complicated.

Avoid resetting, it rarely fixes anything other than a few specific issues covered in the support pages and erases valuable diagnostic data Sonos could use to help you.
