Sonos amp and connect gen1 set up and work perfectly Set up: amp to 2 passive 3rd party speakers and 3rd party powered sub. hard line out from headphone jack on lenovo laptop to phono in on amp. TV line out HDMI arc to hdmi in on amp. Everything works perfectly. Connect gen 1 system not set up yet so Connect gen 1 is idle at the moment. Ethernet from sonos amp, connect gen 1 and laptop to router. Router is Wireless 7 from spectrum.

HDMI wireless transmitter /receiver was already set up and working with transmitter out on laptop hdmi to remote tv hdmi in (not arc). Doesn’t work Is this a channel problem?….I even tried a new alternate hdmi wireless /transmitter/receiver….same problem...won’t pair...the alternate had 5 channel selection….none worked....would not pair...Any ideas?

All HDMI inputs on Sonos are ARC. A standard HDMI input won’t work. It has to be an ARC signal, those are the ‘pins’ that Sonos is looking for audio data on.

Apologies, then, your post is data dense, and I apparently didn’t understand the issue.

What isn’t working? From what I can glean from your post, the Sonos is, but your HDMI wireless transmitter isn’t? If this is the case, shouldn’t you be working with their CS, or their community? I’m not sure anyone on this community would know anything about what channels an unspecified wireless HDMI transmitter is using, and/or whether it is conflicting with a standard WiFi channel.

Thanks Bruce..!!….

Whats not working: wireless hdmi from laptop to tv monitor (arc) no longer pairs…..this is completely separate from sonos system...independent laptop to tv monitor paired perfectly before sonos was set up...since sonos system...independent system not able to pair,,,,maybe a channel interference between router and wireless hdmi from laptop now?…

Thanks….Bill

Again, I suspect you need to work with the CS group or user community from this unspecified HDMI transmitter. Sonos uses standard WiFi channels to communicate.

Thanks again…..I have attempted 3 different brands...OREI is the latest...expensive with 5 channels...the only thing I can conclude is that signals are now crossing each other and interfering pairing between lenovo and tv monitor?

Thanks again Bruce for your comments...

What did the various CS departments, and their respective communities say?

Are you sure this isn't a laptop issue with the hdmi outputs?

Hook up a couple tvs and see if it works, then add in the fancy stuff.

Unplug the Sonos devices (amp & connect gen 1). Does the hdmi transmitter / receiver pair now? If so, turn the amp back on. Since you’re using ethernet on the amp, go into the amp settings in the sonos controller and turn wifi off. Does the hdmi transmitter / receiver work? If so, plug the connect back in and disable the wireless, if possible. I don’t remember if that was possible on connect gen 1.

Anyway, things to try.

Thanks...I did unplug sonos amp and connect gen 1 as well as ethernet connections to router….still won’t pair from amp to remote tv….again...wireless hdmi trans and receive worked perfectly before sonos system was set up

From amp to remote tv? I’m probably not understanding what you’re trying to do.

But, if your hdmi transmitter / receiver setup doesn’t work while your Sonos devices are unplugged, then Sonos has nothing to do with your problem.

Gotcha...thanks….my thoughts are maybe router and sonos have a connected channel now that has changed the ability for computer hdmi trans and receiver to pair? Sonos is also wirelessly connected to computer, and can be controlled from the comp

It is highly unlikely you are saturating a wifi channel with a single TV link.

What makes you think that is happening?

What does your wifi monitor show for channel utilization? Under 60% should be usable.

ARC is an output, not an input. There seems to be a lot of confusion here...

I'm too confused to continue, what does a TV monitor have to do with monitoring a wifi channel?
