I bought an Era 100 about 18 months ago for use in a small flat. It’s an old building and we’re on the top floor so the only WiFi option is a mobile dongle-type device (basically a 4g sim). It works fine though and worked for 12 months with the Era 100…. then nothing at all. After a couple of hours wait time (I gave up several times!) I finally spoke to customer support today to be told that mobile networks like this are not supported any more. So, I now have a redundant Era 100… what a waste! Sonos, how do I get my money back? You have moved the goalposts and the product that worked when I bought it is now useless. Has anyone else had the same issue? Is there a solution?

Hello @Jonathan Bourne, welcome to the Sonos Community!

After a couple of hours wait time (I gave up several times!) I finally spoke to customer support today to be told that mobile networks like this are not supported any more.

I want to correct the above sentence. According to our Sonos system requirements, Wireless internet connections such as satellite, mobile hotspots, or LTE routers are under Unsupported network setups and devices.

It has always been this way and the main reason is because we cannot guarantee it will work.

With my response here, your thread moved to the top of the latest activity list, maybe other users who’ve managed to get their Sonos system to work with a similar network setup can offer some advice.

I hope this helps.

Another demonstration of Sonos ignoring that home and business networks are increasingly more complex and thus on a rapid pace to make themselves irrelevant in the market.  Privately, professionally and for my clients we’re no longer recommending Sonos. Not until VLANS are supported via an advanced configuration option.
