Hello everyone,

We’re building a new home and want to set up a good audio system in the living room for our main TV.

The TV will be mounted on the wall under the stairs (green box in the picture), and the sofa will be positioned where the blue box is. Our current plan is to place a Sonos Arc Ultra under the TV, a Sub on the floor next to the TV, and two Era 300 speakers behind the sofa on stands.

What do you think of this setup? Do you have any suggestions?

Budget-wise, we can’t exceed this configuration.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Looks like a good bet to me. Once in place you’d want to run Trueplay anyway to tune the area where you will be mostly watching the TV so that it takes into account all the acoustics from the open plan-ness of the room. Depending on the room acoustic

Whilst they compensate for direction, I still would place the Era300s pointing slightly inward from the left and right back corners of the sofa though, not directly behind, to give the best spacial impact from the sound.

Eventually, when budget allows, I’d certainly also get a pair of Era 300s (or at least Era 100s) for the kitchen though as relying on the home theatre setup for music when you’re out there might not be very satisfying, and you’d get some great sound by grouping the home theatre with paired Era300s/100s to fill this space with music, when not watching TV.
