Hi,
I have quite old tech (zoneplayer s5 & bridge) and am looking to extend the setup. I have 2 questions:
1. is it true I can only connect play:5 gen1 to my current setup (but not the gen 2 play:5)?
2. can I add a sub and playbar to my current setup?

A s5, maybe a Play 5 Gen 1? (has a headphone output)
Adding more Sonos gear is not a problem what you have now will work with the new stuff just fine. Only thing you can't do is pair the Gen 1 Play 5 with a Gen 2 Play 5 for stereo.
If the Bridge starts acting strange take a look at the power supply, it is cheap to replace if you still need the Bridge.
