Hoping the many experts here can provide me some guidance :)

I want to add an outdoor zone comprised of four landscape speakers and an in-ground sub. Something along the lines of the Sonance PATIO4.1 or similar.

My question is on the best way to power these as a single zone. Am I correct in assuming I could use a Sonos Amp for the four satellites plus a second amp for the passive sub connected to the sub out on the amp? And if I’m correct, is this the best option or, is there a better way?

Also, if this is the ideal way, any amp recommendations for the passive sub?

Connecting four passive speakers will be fine, anything more wont work as you would need the Sonance Architectural speakers listed on our website.

The passive sub is another matter however, as we don’t support the use of third-party passive subwoofers with the Amp or Connect:Amp. There could be a workaround online, but nothing that is officially supported.

If you are set on using a passive sub, then it may be better to use a third-party Amp instead and connect a Sonos Port to it, that way you could have the passive sub connection and also connect it to your Sonos system. If you want to use a Sonos Amp, then personally I would forgo adding a Sub since as, it being an outdoor setup, you probably don’t need one.
