Hi

I have a ProJect turntable connected to the line in of my Sonos Port, i have bought a 1MII B03Pro bluetooth transmitter/receiver and connected it to the line out, i have connected my Sony Quiet Comfort headphones to the transmitter, when i put a record on the music still comes through my Sonos surround sound Arc 2 x play 1’s and sub. I had grouped the port with my living room surround but i was expecting the sound to re-route through the line out and to my headphones?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you Group to an audio source the Grouped Sonos will play it. To have them not, simply unGroup them. If you have selected the Port line in as a source for the Arc unselected that.

To get sounds to your headphones I think you need to set the Port to use the line in as the source.

Just simply select the Port ‘room’ from the slide-up room selector in the Sonos mobile App and play your audio source to it and it will play on your Headphones. Ensure ‘grouped’ rooms and/or autoplay to a different room is not enabled in your Port room settings (that’s assuming you don’t want that to happen) and audio will play on the headphones only, but it’s possible to also play to any/all rooms at the same time too. There are options to do either of these things.

It sounds like the Sonos Port is still outputting sound to your grouped speakers instead of prioritizing the line-out to the Bluetooth transmitter. Here are a few steps and tips to resolve this:

  1. Check Audio Output Settings in the Sonos App:

    • Open the Sonos app and go to the settings for the Sonos Port.
    • Look for options related to "Line-Out Level" or "Audio Output." Ensure it’s set to fixed or variable output, depending on your preference. This ensures the audio signal is sent to the Bluetooth transmitter.

  2. Ungroup the Sonos Port:

    • When the Port is grouped with your Arc and other speakers, it prioritizes sending audio to the group rather than the line-out. Try ungrouping the Port from your living room setup, as this may enable the sound to route solely through the line-out.

  3. Ensure the Bluetooth Transmitter Is Active:

    • Verify that your 1MII B03Pro Bluetooth transmitter is powered on, set to transmitter (TX) mode, and correctly paired with your Sony Quiet Comfort headphones.

  4. Volume Adjustment:

    • If you’re using variable line-out on the Port, adjust the volume in the Sonos app to ensure the signal is reaching the transmitter.

  5. Test Line-Out Independently:

    • To confirm the issue isn't with the transmitter, try connecting another audio source (like a phone or computer) to the line-out of the Port and test if the sound reaches your headphones.

  6. Additional Configuration Tips:

    • Some Bluetooth transmitters have dual connection modes (e.g., RX/TX). Ensure it’s set to the correct mode for transmitting audio.
    • Double-check the cabling between the Port's line-out and the transmitter to ensure a secure connection.
