Question

TT and in app setup confusion

Forum|alt.badge.img

Ok this is what I have.

Loft setup: beam, sub, 2 one SL

Living room: ARC

Den: TT connected to external phono preamp connected to connect gen 2

how do I configure the TT to use Living Room and Loft together and individually.

Ive gotten it to work however when I go to use my Living Room or Loft the system isn’t connected to the TVs any more.

any insight is much appreciated.

To make the tv play automatically through the Sonos, go into settings in the app, then choose the room (eg living room) then make sure “tv autoplay” is set to on.

That way if you’ve played music through the speaker from the turntable, the speaker will revert back to tv audio when you turn the tv on.

The (Living Room) Arc and (Loft) Beam each need to be in the same Sonos Household/System as your Connect (Gen:2). So first check if that is the case by going to "Settings (gear icon)/System Settings/Manage/About Your System” and see if all your devices are listed in that section of the App. If not, it means you ‘may’ have setup the Connect in a different Household/System - The only way to resolve that is to factory reset it and add it back to the existing Sonos Household/System, but maybe check what you see in the ‘About Your System’ area of the App first and report back here.

Swipe up on the Now Playing section on the bottom of the screen and group the two rooms. Then start your turntable and tap on the Line-In option under “Your Sources”.

To play to a single room, just select the individual room on the Now Playing section.

If you want to play TV audio to either room, enable TV Autoplay under the room’s settings. Then turn on the TV and the TV audio will automatically play out of the speakers.

The app used to have a Autoplay Room feature for Line-In, but it was removed on the new app.

However it looks like the autoplay feature for line in (ie the ability to automatically play your turntable to a specific speaker) has disappeared from the new Sonos app.

Maybe I’m way off here.  IMO there is a breakdown in communication. I had a “loft” apartment years ago. At that time Loft meant I had a level above the main floor plan that had a separate  balcony. In the same space below there was a kitchen, living room and den/office with a door as well as two bedrooms. In that space I could have had Sonos Speakers and/or a turntable located in any room so to speak. So are all your Sonos in the same space/home? If so IMO the things are being made to appear more complicated than they are. Please respond 😊

Thank you for your replies! So all systems are on same household and TV autoplay is now enabled! The TT needs its own “room” via Den correct? Then I play the TT and use the the yellow icon to select which rooms to play in? In my case den always selected and add living room and or loft?
