Sonos five stereo pair with turntable

I have a pair of Sonos Fives configured as stereo pair.  I have a turntable connected to one (eg left).  When playing from Line-In only one speaker works (it’s fine if I use another source eg streaming).  I can switch the configuration to the other speaker and the same.  In fact, without changing the configuration, with line in to RH speaker, I only get sound from LH speaker!  So there seems to be no issue with the speakers.  As a lay novice, I have picked up that this may be something to do with the network.  Any clues as to the issue and how I could resolve so I can play my Vinyl through both speakers?

Sometimes that final push to seat the plug in the FIVE requires more force than users are comfortable with. Typically, none of the plug’s shaft is visible when the plug is properly seated.

Are you perhaps using a ‘mono’ 3.5mm audio cable connection, rather than stereo? Do you have another cable you can perhaps try?

Some cables are a bit stiff and need a firm push to fully seat, make sure the connector is fully in.

Thanks Both.  I Have checked the jack and it is a two stripe version (it was supplied with the Turntable).  Also checked the connections are good and fully inserted with no change I’m afraid.  Thanks for the suggestions though.👍🏻

Something is wrong here somewhere. Maybe try another line-in audio source, maybe an MP3 player or a mobile device and see if the music plays to both speakers and perhaps try a different cable too. If the issue persists then it maybe best to submit a Sonos system diagnostic report from within the Sonos App, note it’s reference and then contact/chat with Sonos Support Staff via this LINK and see what the Staff can perhaps suggest to resolve the matter.

Thanks again for replies.  I’ve disconnected it all and then put it all back together and now works so your collective instincts seem to have been right.  I think that, yes, I may have been a bit too gentle with everything and it needed a more firm hand.  Good to know you guys are there - thanks again.
