Question

sonos amp

I am unable to connect the amp. I tried the alternate way as well but no luck. It’s plugged in but not don’t see any light. I need the amp for my turntable connection. What can I do to connect?

Are there no lights at all when you first power on the Amp? Any indication that it’s working at all?

nothing lights up. It only has one small light in the front. I tried an ethernet cable as well and still noting. I don’t know how to tell if it is dead :(

But all my other devises are working

I assume you’ve tried a different power-point, but if no joy, it sounds like it ‘might’ be a hardware issue. Perhaps it’s a fuse in the plug or the Amp itself.

The next step is to maybe speak with Sonos Customer Support via this LINK and see what the Staff can perhaps ascertain and suggest to help you to resolve the matter.

I will try that on Monday since there is a recording saying they are closed. I hope I can repair myself as I am in Panama

Hi @EddP67, have you tried a factory reset? At this point, you’ve got nothing to lose ...

  • Unplug the power cord
  • Press and hold the JOIN button on the back of the Amp
  • Plug in the power cord

I’m a bit confused regarding your issue…

You said you don’t see a light? I assume you mean the LED on front of the Amp; if so that is the only light on the Amp. There are no other lights. However lets make sure you have the LED display set to on. To do so…

  • Open the Sonos app
  • Go to the room/zone you designated for the amp
  • Scroll down to Hardware
  • Turn on Status light

Regarding sound…

Are you using the Amp with Wired speakers or Line-in to a Play 5?

I can’t turn on the status light until I can add it to my system. I use it as line in and use with wifi.
The amp is not responding to the setup wizards

I recently moved and my other speakers are working. The amp is the only thing not working

Soon after power is applied, regardless of the status light setting, there will be some status light activity. If there is no activity, the unit is dead or not receiving power. After the unit boots, then it will check the status light flag.

No matter what I try it doesn’t work. Im living in Panama Central America and there is no way to send it out, no mail service. There has to be a way i can check the fuse

There are no user accessible parts in a SONOS product. There is an internal fuse. If this fuse blows, it it virtually certain this was because of a failure in the unit. Simply replacing the fuse will result in additional damage to the unit. The proper way to proceed would be to identify and repair the cause for fuse blowing before applying power to the unit.
