Port vs Five: Which would you choose for adding a turntable?

Hello community,

I’m adding a turntable (Technics AT-LP3XBT) to my existing Sonos setup and want to know the best path forward.

Currently I have an Arc + Sub. The turntable will be in the same room and next to the Arc speaker (within 3 or 4 feet to one side).

Option 1: Add a Port to pipe the sound through my Arc (and an old Play 1 in the bedroom).

Option 2: Add a Five more oomph

Or some other option: What would you do?

@arc-itect

Imho a single Five next to the Sonos Arc won’t improve sound that much. If you in general are satisfied with Arcs sound, the port would be the best (but expensive and overkilled) option. If you like the sound to get a wider stage in music mode, taking a pair of Era100 could be an option. For music a stereo pair config of them grouped with Arcs room could be a good option. Using the original Sonos audio to usb c adapter on one of the Eras would do the same job as a Port or Five to bring turntable sound to the whole Sonos system.
Be aware of using Eras as rearspeakers with the Arc won’t work the same, because in this mode line in functionality is disabled.

If I’m spending your money I would add an amp and some nice bookshelf like Kef R3 meta. 🤣

IME Arc is not great for music.
IMO the money is better spent on Sonos 5 but ideally u need 2.
