I just want to confirm there is no way to use a Sonos connect with a STR-DH190 to play records without the annoying delay. There needs to be a way to keep the integrated Phono amp operating at the same time you have it set the amp set to input 4 as far as I can tell. Not a total dealbreaker. Just checking.

Try attaching CONNECT to the receiver’s input 4 as if CONNECT is a cassette deck.
The delay in the Connect is a part of the Sonos design that allows multi-room simultaneous playback.
Do you have a link to the device you are using?
What exactly are you trying to accomplish?
There may be options available for dealing (not eliminating) with the delay.

Some receivers also have internal delays, usually associated with equalization. Both my Denon and Yahama AVRs had to be switched to disable that processing fo get non-delayed sound to the speakers..

I have a Sony STR-DH190 amp with some nice B and W speakers and an Reva record player. Any recommendations on an affordable preamp? Do you think I will notice the sound quality? Also, I believe I will have to get on my phone and select “line in” on Sonos even when I only want to listen to the analog part of the system. But that might be the price of admission. Maybe I could just split the signal somehow so the record player could still go to the Phono input on the receiver. My old amp that broke had a “tape monitor” setting that I don’t believe I can replicate on this one.
Decent phono preamps are common, Crutchfied.com has excellent evaluations and choices. As always folks will happjly sell you something "audiophile grade" that you can't tell from a decent one.
Splitting the phono line is very bad, the cartridge has very specific limits and needs. Instead split the output of the phono preamp as that simply needs a set of RCA Y cables.

I don’t mention “tape monitor” much any more because tape decks have been rare for so long and 3-head tape was always rare. If you can’t provoke the receiver into a tape monitor mode, you’ll need to connect the turntable to Line-In. The receiver connection labeling for Input 4 and Output 4 suggest that a Monitor function might be possible.
The audible difference between direct phono input to the receiver and the external path may be significant or not. Don’t get upset if it’s not significant because there are lots of moving parts in any sort of comparison. Most comparisons hyped in the media are suspect because of unequal test environments. For example, if one unit or signal path is very slightly louder, it will sound “better” to virtually all listeners, but the differences might reverse or disappear if the conditions are exactly matched. Exactly matching levels requires instruments and skill. I’m rarely invited back to a “my dog is better than your dog” type showdown because I’ll point out that all of the dogs have flea’s.
Increase delay on line in to max setting, I had the same probelm that the sound would drop out every 5 second or so, sounds like cartridge is skipping, upping the delay to max in the app solved the problem
