Music playing at surface of vinyl

I have a Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB Turntable connected to a Sonos Five.

When I play a record, I can hear the music from the record very faintly where the needle meets the vinyl. It’s also playing in the speaker as normal. Is this normal? Can I do anything to stop the music sounding at the surface of the vinyl as it’s a little delay so noticeable when you listen with the lower volume in the speaker.

As long as you have the tracking angles set properly and the correct weight set there isn’t much more that can be done.

Maybe look at the connecting wires and bend them to where they touch each other a bit to reduce the chance one  or more are vibrating.

Possibly a different pad on the turntable to dampen the record’e vibrations. Best asked in a turntable forum though.
