I have a turntable with a pre-amp and want to play this through my already existing Sonos system (speakers around the house). I called Sonos and they said I have to hard wire the turntable to a Sonos speaker with a line-in port, however I don't want/need another speaker. Can I use the Port or Amp to connect the turntable to the rest of my Sonos speakers?

You can use a Sonos product that has an analog line-in connection, such as:
** Note: If any of the above compatible devices are used as a HT Surround, then their line-in port and Bluetooth Rx both become disabled.
A turntable with built-in/external pre-amp can connect to the Line-In which becomes an audio source you can play to the Sonos device or other Sonos devices, which can also be grouped together for playing the audio throughout the Home.

Thanks. So to be clear, the turntable and the Port/Connect (with the requisite connectors) would be sufficient? I want to have a minimal equipment footprint where I’m putting the turntable.
You just need a general analog RCA audio cable from your Turntable/Pre-Amp line-out to the Analog line-in on a Sonos Port, or a Sonos Connect. Your community profile shows you have a Sonos Five too, so you could ‘perhaps’ also use that Sonos product instead (if it’s still available in your system) and perhaps not being used as a HT surround?
This is the amp … but can my setup look like this (no speaker hard-wired to the turntable or amp?
That seems like a bit of a waste (and maybe more expensive) if you don’t personally want to have any 3rd-Party speakers connected to the Sonos Amp, for use just with a TT line-in. You would likely get better value for your money (and a similar looking setup) with a Sonos Port, or Connect instead. It’s entirely a matter for you though, which Sonos device you wish to use with a line-in port.
Thanks, I don’t want to move any of my existing speakers … they’re all in the “right” spot. Is there any benefit to getting the amp instead of the port (as long as I’m using a turntable with a pre-amp)?

If you only want to use the line-in on the product for your TT/Pre-Amp and don’t need any additional speakers, then you would be best to get the Port instead of the Amp, or a Sonos Connect (gen2).
The Connect (gen2) is quite old (launched March 2015) and no longer manufactured by Sonos and was replaced by the Port (launched Sept 2019). The Connect is available in white only.
The Sonos Port and Amp are only available in Black.
Note: There are older Sonos Connects (gen1) that were manufactured prior to March 2015 and are not S2 compatible - so it’s best to avoid those.
