I just had to re-install my Sonos System following a change of internet provider. I did have my system wired using a Sonos Boost that is now redundant.
I also played my Project Debut Carbon Evo turntable through a Cambridge Solo pre amp connected to Sonos Port. Due to it being a wired connection I had great sound quality throughout my house.
I realise now I could just line into the Play 5 directly from the Pre amp and not use the Sonos Port ( or connect other equipment elsewhere such as a CD player). However, I want to maintain sound quality as best as I can and room flexibility for listening. What do others recommend as best solution?
In terms of sonic quality, try both approaches and decide if there is any difference for you.
In my experience the turntable setup will have a much larger impact on overall quality. Relatively little is written on optimum turntable setup and I'm not sure why. Perhaps it's because there are a lot of details to juggle.
That will be my next step and thanks for your reply. The turntable set up was sold to me by Richer Sounds and has been an excellent solution until I have had to change to suit new internet provider’s equipment.
If both Line-Ins are set to the same settings, the sound should be identical.

It is a good idea to revisit the turntable’s settings from time to time to make sure they haven’t shifted.
Not a bad idea to confirm the initial setup once you get a turntable home either, the folks setting it up may not have gotten all the settings spot on or they may have shifted during transport.
