Hello everyone!

Exciting news—I've spun the wheel, and we've crowned a winner for our Holiday event games! They've received a DM within our community and are now set to enjoy an exclusive Roam SL in a special color from the Sonos Community. Additionally, they will receive a 12-month Deezer membership, courtesy of the Deezer Community.

If they wish, they can announce themselves in the comments. However, I personally expect to see some pictures once they receive the speaker, showcasing how it complements their home!

I hope everyone, whether participating or simply tuning in, had a fantastic time. We'd love to hear your thoughts. Did you enjoy the event? Do you have any ideas for future games? And if you find yourself feeling nostalgic for our old jigsaw scavenger hunt, please let us know!

We eagerly await your feedback.

Just a heads-up: with the holiday season upon us, some of us might be a bit slower to respond as we cherish moments with loved ones.

Here's to a fantastic end to the year and an exhilarating 2024 ahead!

I really enjoyed both Christmas games, although my own thoughts were that the two games might have ‘perhaps’ been a little more popular had they have been launched/played the other way around, as those that had not finished putting together the numbers/URL in the initial ‘scavenger hunt’ game, seemingly did not then partake heavily in the ‘Last Letter Christmas Movie’ game, or at least not perhaps quite as much as I thought they might.

On the launch of game 2, I quickly chose to gather hundreds of movie titles. I then set them into alphabetical order, ready for use, but didn’t really get a chance to use a fraction of them in this community. I posted much more in the Deezer community, but even that quickly became a seemingly near two-person challenge, rather than a good many players getting involved.

Also, entirely my own fault, I was not initially clear about the instructions in the ‘scavenger hunt’ game. I thought the numbers discovered had to be condensed down to a 6-digit only number, as shown in the instructions/example provided, I was (mistakenly) thinking that was perhaps the format for a Deezer playlist. Anyhow, I had clearly missed the point and sat on the 11 digit numbers for a good 3 hours+ trying to see how to get them reduced from 11, down to 6 digits, in the order of the categories mentioned. I did try the 11 digits too fairly early-on in the task, but it did not work with the upper-case URL that I had copied and was using from the initial instruction guide. So that threw me off course for a long time aswell. (I blame the iOS Safari web browser for that, of course😀).

I had clearly been ‘over-thinking’ the task in hand, had mis-read the instructions and so thank-goodness my Wife got on my case and eventually put things back on-track, which helped me then find the playlist and the answer provided to game 1.

That said, I really enjoyed both games and as a Sonos community user mainly, I did go onto learn a fair bit about the Deezer community during the journey and it was really nice to meet folk in that community and see their contribution to Deezer and to Sonos products too.

So that was my experience as a player in the Christmas games. Anyhow I now want to say a huge ’THANK-YOU’ here, to the Support Staff from both communities for their work in setting up the two games across both platforms.

I was not a prize-winner this time around, but it really was still a great experience and a bit of fun in the run-up to Christmas. Finally I would also like to take opportunity here to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays and a Peaceful New Year.🎄

Hope to see everyone around during 2024 and perhaps also at the next Sonos/Deezer community games too.

I enjoyed these games too and really appreciate the time and effort the Sonos and Deezer teams have put into setting this up. I thought the scavenger hunt was clever and a creative way to make participants actually work for the answer. And who doesn’t love a good holiday movie game?

But like the Halloween games, it’s too bad very few people participated. You would have thought the chance to win a free Roam would have attracted more participants. Maybe next time you can highlight the prize a little more to draw more attention to the contest. Or give away a Sonos Ultimate Immersive Set instead 😉

You also might want to edit the content on the Winner Selection and Notification section under the Terms and Conditions as it says there will be four winners selected rather than one.

Thanks again for the opportunity and for showing some love to the Sonos community.

Happy Holidays! I am really excited to see what Sonos has to offer in 2024! 🎧🤞

Ah, I now see in the Deezer Community, that the Christmas Games winner has been announced/identified and I just want to say - it was soooo well deserved by that person, who not only put a huge effort into both Christmas and Halloween Games, but greatly contributes regularly to the Deezer community too and long may that continue. Congratulations to the Winner.

I won’t publish their name here, but just to say I’m really pleased/thrilled for them and it’s lovely to hear them win such a really nice (sur)prize … that’s what Christmas is all about, eh?🎄

I enjoyed the Sonos and Deezer holiday games, appreciating the creativity. Despite the low participation, suggesting a more prominent prize highlight for future contests. Also, noted a discrepancy in the Terms and Conditions, mentioning four winners instead of one. Excited for what Sonos has in store for 2024. Happy Holidays! 🎧🤞

Looks like I’m the lucky winner!  Thank you Sonos and Deezer!  I’ll be sure to post a pic once I receive it.

I liked both games, though the scavenger hunt was a bit difficult as I really didn’t know how ‘deep’ into the different areas I should be looking.  I would definitely play these again.

As far as an idea for a game, you could do a scavenger hunt where you provide a popular song lyric that fairly recognizable and players have to determine the artist/group that performed it, or song title.  You can then take the a letter from that name or title or what have you spell out a word, or something similar, to get the answer.

Example: 4th letter of song title

The boy said, "my name's Johnny and it might be a sin
But I'll take your bet, you're gonna regret
'Cause I'm the best there's ever been"

Congratulations to the lucky winner of the Holiday event games! 🎉 It's heartwarming to see the community come together for such festive activities. A huge thank you to the organizers for making this event possible. Wishing everyone a joyful holiday season and looking forward to more exciting community events in the upcoming year!
