How Do I Pair a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo Turntable with Sonos Arc SL and 2 Sonos One SLs?

.: Hello. Yesterday I bought a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo turntable. I know it does not have a pre-amp. In my living room, I have the Sonos Arc SL soundbar and two Sonos One SL speakers. My question is: how do I pair the Sonos and Pro-Ject devices? I have searched intensely but have found no straightforward answer or help. My understanding is that I need to connect the turntable to a pre-amp, and then the pre-amp to a Sonos device that will work with the Arc and SL speakers. I would be very grateful if anyone could verify this, and also if anyone can then advise me on buying a pre-amp, and on which Sonos device I will need to make this all work.

Thank you sincerely in advance for any guidance you might provide me.

Hi @Podbay,

We have a blogpost that goes into detail about what Sonos devices you can use with your turntable. It used to give some recommendations for pre-amps but it looks like those were removed. I can’t give any recommendations for them myself (I also don’t use a turntable so I wouldn’t know a good one) but I found this thread which has some user suggestions:

Once you have a pre-amp or know what one to get, then you’ll likely want either the Sonos Port or the Era 100 to connect the turntable with your Arc SL and One SLs.

The Era 100 is cheaper and can act as a speaker, though you’ll also need to buy the line-in adaptor to connect it to your turntable. The Port doesn’t need the adaptor but doesn’t play anything, so it’s a good choice if you don’t want an extra speaker. The blogpost I linked above talks about the other devices you can use, but these are the two I’d recommend.

I hope this information helps!

Hi, Jamie. I was able to purchase a Pro-Ject preamp for my Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO turntable! I also bought a Sonos Port, and everything works really well. All of it is controlled with the Sonos app on my iPhone 12. The sound is excellent, coming through my Sonos Arc and two Sonos One speakers. So, again, thank you for your guidance.
