Pro-Ject SB turntable and Sonos 5 Intermittent fault

Hi I just bought my wife a ProJect T1 Phono SB linked to a Sonos 5. When playing a disc at least once per side, the sound reduces drastically  and all I can hear is a low barely amplified sound. It last for a few seconds then resumes. Any ideas? Really irritating. ?Static build up, dust?  Speaker works fine.

I’d start by cleaning all the connections between them.

Can you hook the turntable to something else to confirm it is not a turntable/preamp issue?

You could submit a diagnostic. Wait for teh sound drop and send the diagnostic within a few minutes. Then call Sonos to have them check to see if it is the line-in dropping or something internal.

Just to add that the turntable is not  grounded as there’s no where to ground on the Sonos 5
