Mac OSX Sequoia 15.3 controller issues

I am running approximately 14 devices using iPhones, iPads and two separate Mac computers.   Everything iOS works fine but suddenly both controllers on OSX will not recognize the system.  I have deleted a reinstalled the OSX apps, reset Modem and Wifi Routers.  I have checked the firewall settings and there have been no changes to the system, just stopped working and no help. I’ve been on the help line for 30 minutes with someone who seems to know less than me and I’ve been a user for 15 years.  All the iOS devices continue to work, really frustrating that I can select and run the system from Spotify better than using the Sonos app.   Roon endpoints will be my next stop.  Anyone with something other than start over?

What about your network? It sounds like your Macs are connected to one subnet, and your other devices connected to another.

Thanks for your help.  I did find the answer while waiting on Sonos helpline.  It was mentioned to go into private & security then local network then toggle the sonos on and off.  That seemed to work even though it was toggled on anyway.  I do appreciate your response. Thank you.

I’ve often found ‘toggling’ to be a successful strategy, in many cases. Glad it worked for you!

Yep,  ‘toggling’ worked me as well. Cheers all . . .

Hi Everyone.

Im running on a updated M1 Mac Mini and running 15.4 OS. I have been struggeling a bit with connection from the Mac app to the Sonos speakers. Today I tried to contact support, but they gave up, and wanted me to call them. So I gave myselves one more chance to find the reason for this behavior. Situation: Speakers are connected to LAN and respond quickly to ping. Only the Mac M1 have the issue (wifi and lan), MacBook OS 15.3.1 is okay both on wifi and lan, my phone and pad is okay. So after no seeing its the M1 who got the problem, it happende after the update to 15.4, however I have removed the Sonos app several times, deleted it from the basket, restarted what so ever, it did not work. Only thing which worked was clean the MAC M1, reinstall software, restart speakers! it worked but not next day.

I find the issue related to local network access. So i looked at settings (from apple menu) - Privacy and Security - Local Network and saw a funny looking icon for Sonos, like it was not removed. SO reinstalling the app did not recognize that this was not working, so the app thought is was active, and did NOT install a new one to get access to local net. Double checked with my Macbook, here the Icon was the a copy of the Sonos app icon, and yes this was working (wifi-lan). So here was the issue.

I stopped the sonos service by the slider, cleaned for the Sonos app again, and installed the sonos app one more time, and now I have the gold colored sonos icon, and it found the speakers with a blink of my eyes when started the app.

I hope this will help you all, including Sonos staff.

I would like an update which clean up all the settings it does when installing, because no matter what I tried to remove the app (inside the app or from the system app folder) it did not sweep the floor.

All the best

After toggling the first Sonos service to off, the app installed a new service. Now it works again.

Update: Just had another smaller OS update yesterday 13/3-25. Same issue this morning happen, Sonos could not connect to the speakers. Again the toggle of the Sonos service in Local Lan helped.

Doesn’t the Sonos app need to send commands to the speakers? Shouldn’t you be allowing the Sonos app to find and talk to the Sonos speakers on your local network?

If you’re using the ‘gold colored icon’ app, that means you’re using S1?

Hi Guys

First of all, my little fix does not solve the issue completly, but toggle the Local LAN switch does. Irritating that this have to be done often, but this is how it is. Using a little logic here, the other Local LAN connections are working for other apps, so I think its not a MAC OS problem, this works, but rather an issue with the app it selves stopping this service. This is what I think. All the best

Got a new update 16.7, but this did not solve the issue.

The new version.

You still have to flip the slider at Local Network.

Have great sunday
