Playlists created on desktop apps not visible in mobile for Android

I am deeply relieved to see Search for local Music library return to the mobile Sonos app for Android, since i have a large-ish music library on a NAS.

Additionally, I am intrigued after this latest update to see a playlist show up in the mobile app that was never there before. It was created in Windows Media player.

This is...interesting...to me, since one of the reasons I invested in Sonos was a feature that never came to fruition: the *advertised* ability to import playlists from iTunes. This feature *never* worked for iTunes on Windows. Perhaps it did for iTunes on Mac, but I don’t own a Mac. Suddenly, importing a playlist from Windows Media works, without me even trying? Odd, but I’ll take it.

Anyhow - over the years, I have created 10+ Playlists in the Sonos S2 Desktop app (Version 16.2, Build 79153290), but these are no longer visible after the Android updates of the Summer of 2024.

The playlists still display in the Desktop S2 app. Does anyone know how to make them visible to the mobile app again?

I figured out how to resolve this problem on my own:

In the desktop controller app, hover over the Playlist. When you see the white downward-facing arrow, click on it.

Select “Add to Sonos Favorites”.

Wait a few minutes; it should show up on your Mobile App under “Sonos Favorites”.

Enjoy!

I crowed about my success too soon…

Although the playlists showed up on the Mobile App - they won’t play! Spins eternally or finally says, “There was an error.” No indication of what type of error, no error number.

Any playlist I create in Windows Media Player - automatically shows up in my Sonos Mobile App under “Imported Playlists. This is getting ridiculous.

Again, the music itself will play every time I summon it - but only if I select an Artist, Album, Song, or Genre. If I try to play music from that same source via a Sonos playlist, it won’t play.
