When I first set up my Sonos 2 Do I have to be on my own home WI? Fi? To set it up. I am having trouble getting it to link and play music.

Do you want to connect it to the wifi network only, or to other Sonos devices? Beacuse the first should be possible (see https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/connect-sonos-to-a-new-router-or-wi-fi-network), while the second would need a reset and re-set up on the Move 2 at your friends home and again in your home. Why not just use the Move 2 as a bluetooth speaker when you are way from home/

You should be able to play via Bluetooth without setting up on wifi. If needed you can change wifi credentials to your home setup when you get back there.
Correction: Move 2 needs to be set up on wifi first but you can change wifi settings later. Roam 2 will Bluetooth out-the-box.
Happy Holidays, and thank you for the reply. But I find this thing very Difficult to switch from network to network. I finally got to the house to set it up for the first time. And now at a friend's house and it's still not connecting to hard to go from network to network.

+18A portable speaker like the Move or Roam should be able to do exactly what a phone does when moved from one remembered WiFi to another remembered WiFi. Feature request.

+18I do not own a Move, nor a Roam, but I think the last question in this topic is about not being able to connect to a second network. Your remark is about the situation after this, one e the connection to the new network is established. I would also say this should just be possible, although if another systeM would already be present on the new network there could be difficulties.

You are correct, I eventually figured it out and was able to Connect via bluetooth But was not easy. When I was at my Friend's house using The app to find his network It was not coming up his network Is T-Mobile Wi-Fi , I eventually figured out how to connect connect using Bluetooth. I like the Bluetooth method.Much better because using the app through sonos.When you are playing your playlist like Spotify.Through that it seems to me to change the sound quality. Using bluetooth allows you to use the functionalities The network that you are streaming your music from And using all of the features on that streaming service When in bluetooth mode much better than going through the sonos app. Example, When using the sonos , app through spotify , given the permission for sonos To play the songs doesn't allow me to add to the query to automatically enter. Another song to play after the one that's playing. Does not have that capability through the sonos app. But in Bluetooth mode, you can just go straight to your Spotify or your streaming app and and use all of the features. And functions in the sound quality sounds better in my opinion..
