Hi I have had my sonos surround working for couple of years all of a sudden it has stopped working.

My setups is

Two sonos one second generation with voice assistant

Sonos sub

Sonos Playbar

I have tried and resetting each speaker several times and I can confirm they all work individually, but whenever I tried too set them up as surround sound, it doesn't connect.

I have even tried it with another playback that I have and it's still the same result I am getting.

I am not really sure what is going in, I have updated all the software.

After the setup is completed it just shows two items in the room not connected and sonos sub not connected.

Hi @BrucePlay

Understood. Have you changed your WiFi router, or changed the network name or password of your existing router?

In either case, with the ethernet cable connected, please go to Settings icon » Manage » Network » Manage Networks » Update Networks and go through the process of teaching your Sonos system to connect to your WiFi.

Once the process has completed, you should be able to remove the ethernet cable.

I hope this helps.

Hi @BrucePlay

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Sorry to hear of this issue you are having with your Playbar’s surrounds not working.

Please desist from further resets - if it did not help the first time, it will not help subsequent times either.

The issue you are having is with configuring the speakers to act as surrounds, not that they do so, but then don’t work correctly - is that accurate?

Just in case it helps, could you please try rebooting your router by switching it off for at least 30 seconds? Thanks. Please try configuring the surrounds again about 5 minutes later.

If that does not help, could you please submit a support diagnostic and reply here when you have done so? Thanks. Please don’t share the number given, however - I will find it without.

I hope this helps.

Hi

Thanks for getting back to me, I have manage to get it working, but partially, the only way it pairs up now is if I plug the ethernet cable directly to the playbar and set up the surround speaker, the moment I remove the ethernet cable it stops working.
