Help with Sonos Arc Ultra and height channels

Hi

I have recently renovated my lounge and wall-mounted an Arc Ultra (Sanus extendable mount) below our TV. Also have 2 Era 300s and 2 Subs (Gen 3 and 4).

Ceiling height is 8' and Sonos is mounted circa 3' from ground - it can't be any lower as it is placed above fireplace. I am slightly concerned that our lovely coffer ceiling (which extends roughly 50cm from each wall and base of it is circa 13cm below the ceiling) may impact on the Atmos experience. Top of Arc to base of coffer is circa 53cm.

Specifically, I want to understand whether the upward-firing channels will be impacted and potentially compromise the Atmos experience. Main listening position is circa 9' from the Arc.

Very grateful for any help/insight as the height effects on some test sources aren't so noticeable.

Many thanks

That ceiling shouldn’t be a problem, you’d not want the Arc any lower, close to ear level when listening is usually best.

Trueplay the setup first (if possible) then fiddle with the various audio adjustments until you find the sweet spot for your ears.

My room is much worse and still sounds pretty good when playing Atmos content.

Can you post photos of your room including the ceiling above the Arc Ultra and your main seating area?

Trust your ears, work with the height channel settings for the best sound.
