Añadir Reproductor CD Denon DCD600 + Marshall a Beam 2

Buenas tardes .

Tengo Beam 2 + 2 One + Sub Mini.

Denon PMA-600NE???

No quiero comprarlos y que luego no funcionen bien.

Gracias

That looks good. You could also put a dotted line between the Port and the Beam, if you wanted, they will communicate via WiFi or Ethernet cables to the router. You’ll be able to direct the line in (CD player) to either the line out on the Port, or the Beam, or both at the same time. And you’re welcome ;)

Translation:

Good afternoon.

I have Beam 2 + 2 One + Sub Mini.

I want to add Denon DCD600 Player CD and a Marshall speaker to the Sonos system. I have 2 questions:

1- Do I do it through Port? Can I connect the Denon and the Marshall speaker?

2- Do I also need an amplifier for the Denon Player? Denon PMA-600NE???

I don't want to buy them and then they don't work well.

Thank you

  1. Potentially, yes. Is the Marshall speaker self powered, and will accept a line level line out from the Port? If so, a Port might be the ideal device.
  2. No need for a ‘pre-amp’, the CD player would provide a line level output that the Sonos Port would accept.

Many thanks,

Its Marshall Stanmore II and would be connected to the Denon CD Player.
If I connect a Denon CD to the port, would the marshal be detected?
  2. No need for a ‘pre-amp’, the CD player would provide a line level output that the Sonos Port would accept.
Port does not work as an amplifier and CD Denon seems to need an amplifier, for example:

If I use Port, with CD Denon, I dont need amplifier?

Many thanks!!

  1. The Marshall be detected? No. The Sonos Port would be detected. Anything you played on the Port’s output would be played on the Marshall, but the Marshall itself wouldn’t be ‘shown’ by any Sonos software, you’d only be looking at Sonos equipment.
  2. Since the Port is only looking for/expecting a line level line in, which the output from the CD player itself would be putting out, no additional amplification would be needed. The Sonos itself wouldn’t then be feeding the line in to any other Sonos device you chose, including the Sonos Port’s line outs, if you desire, which would be feeding the Marshall speaker, which has its own amplifier.

  1. ¿Se detecta el Marshall? No. El puerto Sonos sería detectado.

If I activate the line, I can do it by zones or the entire set, which is what I want, but in this situation will the Marshall suffer sound delay with respect to the beam?

Many thanks from Spain!!

No difference between sending the line in to one device (output), or many. That is what Sonos is designed for.

Again, you’re most welcome!

Ah, the delay you’re worried about occurs when the line in goes into the Sonos. The delay is handled at the input, and you wouldn’t notice it with any connected devices, or other Sonos devices. The only time you’d notice it if you were to connect the CD player directly to the Marshall, and the Sonos at the same time.
