System addition?

Forum|alt.badge.img+3

Could someone kindly help please?

I currently have the following

LG Oled tv connected to Sonos Arc via Earc

Sonos Arc

Sonos Gen 3 sub

pair of Era 300s configured as surrounds.

The Era 300s in this configuration don’t utilise the main speaker.

How can I add a CD player and what hardware is required to play stereo to the Era 300s so the centre speaker is used and retain the system as a surround set up for blu rays. Or is it not possible

Thank you

This is not possible. When used as surrounds, the front-facing driver of the Era 300 is disabled. If you want the front-facing driver enabled, you need to remove the Era 300s as surrounds and set them up as a stereo pair. You could then connect a CD player using the USB-C port on one of the Era 300s with the Sonos line-in adapter.

If you want to keep the Era 300s as surrounds, just play CDs through your Arc setup using your Blu-ray player.

I do currently do that but CDs don’t sound right? They seem to ‘jitter’ unless the settings are incorrect?

Thank you for your kind help 👍

What exactly does “jitter” mean? What model TV and Blu-ray player do you have?

Found the downmix setting was set to surround so changed it to stereo, seems much better 🙂

Thank you 👍
