Sonos Play 1’s connect to Alexa

Hi, I have already looked at a few threads but am still confused. I have two Play 1’s (the original ones). I want to get Alexa working through them, what is the best way. Do I need to upgrade to the new Play ones or just buy something like the Echo dot which is much cheaper.

Yes, buy a dot, or for more fun a Spot. Then enable the Sonos skill. The difference is that rather than just asking Alexa to play xxxx you will have to say alexa play xxxx in the "Kitchen" or whatever room name you have for your Play 1s. IMHO it's a better option than a Sonos One. Getting a Spot rather than a Dot opens the option of video doorbell and drop in.

Wow this is a whole new ball game, are you saying get the spot which will then work with my play 1’s but this will open up other options? Sounds very tempting!
