S2 notification hijacked my system

Like others who have posted, I’m so frustrated that the notifications to upgrade to S2 block me from using Sonos.  The recommended solutions are to go to the system menu and confirm you want to stick with S1.   But there’s no way to open the app on my older iPhone.  I just get the notification with Download Sonos S2, More options, or Learn more.  After trying to download S2, I learn it does not work on my iPhone 8, software 14.8.1.  “More options” offers no useful options and “Learn more” is even more useless.  So the playbar/woofer only work with the TV, to which they were previously set.  The Play1 in the kitchen only plays one radio station, to which it was set.  There’s no way that I can find to open S1 and/or change the settings on my devices.  I have tried resetting the system, reinstalling, etc.  All either will not work or makes no difference.  All the posted advice in the threads assume that one can open a Sonos app, but the S2 notifications make that impossible.  I would add to an existing thread, but they are closed for comments.  If anyone found a fix, please let us know.  Otherwise, this company and its products have turned into expensive junk.

Presumably your system is still at S1. According to your profile your products (Play:1, Playbar, Sub) are compatible with S2.

I’d suggest you backtrack. Remove both the S1 and S2 apps for the moment. You won’t lose anything important. Reinstall the S1 app from the app store afresh. When you start it and have accepted the licence conditions, tell it to connect to an existing system (not set up a new one).

Hopefully that will clear the decks and you can proceed with updating to S2. For that this ought to assist: https://support.sonos.com/s/sonos-s2-overview

Both S1 and S2 require iOS 12 or higher, so there’s no reason at all why they wouldn’t run on your phone (which BTW can run the latest iOS 15.3.1).

Thanks.  S2 installed but would not run.  And now S1 won’t open; only go to S2 notifications.  But your information makes me think I should keep trying.
