integrate sonos connect with era100/300

Hi have two Sonos Connect units attached to two different hi-  fi systems.

i would like to buy a Sonos Era100 to connect to my Samsung tv as well as stream music from my hi- fi system .

i understand that Sonos S1 is not compatible with Sonos S1 app. Is there a workaround or do I have buy more Sonos stuff ?

  1. You cannot connect a TV to an Era 100.  You need a Sonos unit specifically built for TV - Arc, Beam, Ray, or Amp + passive speakers.
  2. All currently sold Sonos devices are S2 only except the Amp.

Thank you - but my Samsung Frame can output to a Blue tooth speaker and I understand the Era100/300 are Bluetooth enabled. What would be the reason for it not to work?

Personally, I wouldn’t rely on Bluetooth to be the default sound output for my TV.  For the following reasons:

  1. It’s downmixed stereo only, and the surround sound is mixed into the stereo signal.
  2. There can be timing issues.
  3. It’s not the most reliable protocol.
  4. There are better solutions, even within Sonos (Arc, Beam, Ray).
