Question about Bridge and upgrading

I have a lot of sonos products and my bridge and gen 1 play 5 are eligible for the upgrade.  This makes me assume that all of my other speakers are s2.
My question:  if I upgrade my gen 1 play 5, do I even need a bridge anymore?

can I use the trade up program with my bridge but use the discount on another speake since I, presumably, don’t need the bridge anymore?

You currently don’t need the BRIDGE, any Sonos speaker connected to your router with an ethernet cable will create SonosNet for you, using either S1 or S2 software.

The BRIDGE is unique in the trade up system inasmuch as the only thing you can trade it in for is a BOOST.
