Connect volume level
Hi- I have just purchased the Connect so I can get away from AirPlay-(interruptions with phone calls and things). I have hooked my connect up with the supplied RCA connectors- I will be getting an optical cable soon. The trouble is with the volume. While using AirPlay, I have to keep the Receiver(Sony STR-DN1030) volume at below 7 so it is not too loud. After hooking up the Connect, I have to start the volume near half-way just to hear it. I have changed the connect to "fixed" level and this helped a bit, but it is still way quieter than the level of any other source. My concern is that the receiver does not default to a low level and if anybody goes to AirPlay and I don't catch it and lower the volume first it could be an issue. Is there a way to get the Connect to a level that is at least a lot closer to every other source input? This might be the deal breaker. I had to convince my wife that it was worth the purchase in the first place, but as of now, I have been proven wr
Samsung TV KS (2016) version issues with the Playbar
Firstly, I was able to setup the samsung smart remote with successfully with the playbar, I can turn down/up volume on the playbar with the smart remote - so far so good. The volume control works 100% fine. However, the TV will instantly exit any open application when I use the volume controls. I.E. if I am watching a series through the HBO app and try to adjust the volume with the smart remote, the TV will exit the app and go to cable tv... I have been searching for a way to solve this problem without success... Anyone able to help?
Connect non-smart TV to sonos to play Youtube playlist from laptop
I have the following: - Sony Bravia non-smart TV with HDMI ports (and other ports) - Boost - Connect - 2 x Sonos 3 - HP Envy laptop with HDMI running Windows 10 I can connect the laptop to the HDMI on my TV and the sound isn't too bad, but I'm wondering if I can also have the sound on my Sonos system at the same time? If I can how is this best achieved? Basically I want to be able to play a YouTube playlist on the TV to have a bit of karaoke at our NYE party. It's the wife's idea - she says it, I have to solve it!
Only getting mono from Connect:AMP and Amazon Dot
I have the line out from the Amazon Dot broken out to a left and right RCA connector into the back of a Connect:AMP. When playing a source such as Spotify from the Dot I only receive mono sound from my Play 5. I verified the 1/8 connector into the Dot is indeed stereo (has the two rings). Can someone verify for me that this should be stereo?
Hearing aid accessory
My wife, who's hearing-impaired, uses Widex hearing aids. One of the Widex accessories is called a TV-Dex. It consists of two parts: a base unit that connects to a TV sound system via RCA jacks, and a wireless device she wears on a lanyard that is paired with, and transmits the TV sound signals directly to, her hearing aids. Does anyone have experience or ideas about using this device with the Sonos system? Should it work with a CONNECT? Or will I need to connect the base to a CONNECT:AMP instead? Any thoughts or suggestions much appreciated.
Does only Flexson do stands for the new Play 5?
I have always wondered why there aren't multiple manufacturers of Sonos stands - surely there is demand for this product out there? I find Flexson to be overpriced and heir customer service is awful (no responses to repeated email inquiries). Moreover, as far as I can see their new Play 5 stand isn't yet available in the US. Does anyone know of any other options apart from Flexson for a 2nd gen Play 5 stand?
Are the line-in sources for Play 3's & 5's really only iPads, iPods, and iPhones? This is what is noted on this topic at the Sonos website: Audio line-in: Auto-detecting 3.5mm audio line-in connection. Listen to music that’s stored on an iPod or iPhone: Dock, charge and wirelessly play the music from an iPod or iPhone with the SONOS DOCK (sold separately).
Playbar : Lack of stereo separation when playing music
I have a new Playbar, and I'm wondering if it's faulty - I've read and followed all the instructions/ Sonos links about the available settings etc. The playbar is flat on the TV stand with no side obstructions. I've not really played much 5.1 content, but when playing stereo music e.g Spotify there seems to be very little Left-Right separation. I've tried Audio test tones which play frequency sweeps on Left then Right alternately, plus various music which has very clear separation e.g. end of Bohemian Rhapsody where there are guitar sections on each side alternately (not my normal listening but seemed a good test piece:-) If I get my head right up to the Playbar I can just about tell which side the sound is coming from, but it certainly doesn't project into the room - from a normal listening position it sounds like mono. The same source on a pair of Play1's has great separation, so it's not a source issue. I'm wondering whether or not my Playbar could be faulty?.(with 9 speak
Changing name of wifi network has broken Sonos
This is an odd one. I had my Sonos system connected up to a wifi network, all running fine. Then I changed the SSID and password of the wifi network, and tried to reconnect Sonos. But now the advanced settings won't connect, and my Sonos controller is telling me my wifi isn't compatible with Sonos. But IT WORKED FINE before I changed the name. It can't have suddenly become incompatible just from changing the access details, so what's going on and any idea how to fix it?? Thanks.
Odd symbols displayed when volume changed on Samsung KS800
I have a new Samsung TV and bought a Sonos Sound player, subwoofer and two Play 3's. Very disappointed that they don't really work together. The smart remote cannot control the volume and the regular remote displays two odd symbols instead of a numeric volume level. Before I return the Sonos kit can anyone help? Thanks, Nigel
Sonos connect With Beoplay a9
Hello, I have a Beoplay a9 in the living room and a play 5 gen2 in the kitchen. I'm very interested in getting the sonos connect to group them and to make it sounds both a the same time. Someone with the same setup? I'd like to know if there might be a delay between the a9 and the play5. I read that with some AV there is a significant delay. I really don't want to hear echos if I listen them at same time. Thanks
Display long track and album names on controller apps
The iPhone app needs some way to display entire track names and album names without waiting, perhaps in the "track details" screen. I understand the need for fixed-height items in the main track list, but variable height textboxes in the "track details" and "Album details" screens would be very useful. This is frustrating when browsing similarly named tracks in Spotify, especially with classical music.
Is Sonos Coming to the Connectivity Table?
It seems to be that countless people have asked for connectivity between their Echo devices and the Sonos CONTROLLER and Sonos has been slow to respond. Sure you can connect a DOT to a Connect or a Speaker "big deal" you could always do that. I have 3 Dots and a Echo. I also have Sonos through out my house and I like listening to Sonos when I go to bed, but instead find myself using my Dot and a Bluetooth speaker, because I can't control my Sonos with the Amazon Dot on my bed stand. Sonos users want voice control of their Sonos systems, I understand Sonos is working on that, but it should have been done a year ago. Get us something, now and enhance it later. "Alexa play music for meditation on my Sonos system." "Alexa set Sonos sleep timer for 30 minutes." "Alexa play my podcast on my Sonos system." etc. The Amazon Echo and Google Home are not competitors, they will be enhancers of the Sonos system. If I were in the market now, I wouldn't buy a Sonos system, because it d
