Just got rid of my Bose system because I wanted WiFi. I’m going bonkers constantly changing the volume for each song. There is absolutely zero consistency.  Please tell me there is a fix.  This has never happened with any other speaker I’ve had.  It’s across the board with my roam, Arc & 300 individually.  I can’t find any setting in the app to gain consistency between songs. 
just so it’s clear when a playlist changes songs in a que the volume might get super loud or super soft. It never plays from one song to the next without a level variation.  The actual setting doesn’t change, but the listening level changes. So it might stay on a 28, but that 29 will vary greatly.
I’m really starting to question my decision.

oh - mostly Amazon Music through Sonos app - I rarely use the Sonos music but it happens on their radio as well.

so the only differences - playing via WiFi instead of Bluetooth

Previously you would have played via the native Amazon Music App that has a loudness normalisation feature:

If Bluetooth is used with the Amazon Music App using Sonos speakers you will see same functionality as you did with your Bose, ie playing same content from same source using same connection method.

The Amazon Music Sonos Service does not have this feature (yet), I expect it will come, if Amazon gets enough requests for this feature.

Loudness difference will be more noticeable if you have tracks on playlist that span different genres, eg jazz vs heavy rock

Sonos plays what you send it, doesn't do volume normalization.

I'm not seeing this as a problem here, from Amazon and my music library.

Glad you’re not seeing issues - that’s good to know  

I had no problem with my Bose speakers. Very inconsistent in volume equalization now that my Sonos speakers are playing the exact same playlists.  I am playing Amazon through the Sonos app. I have to sit with my app open and frequently adjust the volume as much as 10 points between songs. 
I never had to adjust my volume before. 
so the only differences - playing via WiFi instead of Bluetooth, Sonos app & Sonos speakers.

If nobody has a better suggestion, play three (10 minutes or so) of songs that show the problem, quickly submit a diagnostic, as they only capture a few minutes of some internal data. Then call Sonos support when you have time and discuss the issue while they examine the internal data we can't see.

Thanks for the suggestion.  Hope someone has had the same or similar experience. I can’t imagine it’s just me since it’s all three of my units.

Not having the volume issues you describe at least not to your extreme. Try setting the volume limit for each room.

Thinking about this a bit more, it could be that your playlists contain some spatial tracks (3D) and some stereo (2D), there will possibly be some loudness differences between these formats, try disabling Spatial (enabled by default), and see if this helps.

As other dude said, it’s the source, not the Sonos. Try turning on Night Mode, that seems to smooth things out for me.

This is it! Both - I went Bluetooth mode and left the Sonos app - just through Amazon Music - smooth. Then I created a playlist with all stuff like Adel and it was smooth.  My playlists do frequently span as you said. 
Dang Sonos definitely needs loudness normalization & to work with Amazon Music better. 
I guess I’ll go back to Bluetooth in the native Amazon app and ditch the Sonos app and WiFi for much of my listening. Bummer. Then again I really have not like their app from the first time I opened it. Wonderful speakers, but…

Loudness normalisation in the Sonos Amazon Music Service would need to be implemented by Amazon, not Sonos.

Your profile says you have iOS (Apple), you can use the native Apps with AirPlay over WiFi to modern Sonos speakers:

Again, just try turning on Night Mode, it may solve the issue without having to resort to streaming from your phone.
