using Bluetooth on Sonos arc ultra

When I connect a Bluetooth device to my arc ultra speaker, after about 5 to 10 seconds it kicks it off and goes back to the arc ultra speaker. I’ve tried many  times, have been not successful a few. It seems random. What do I need to do to keep my Bluetooth device which is a headphone to stay until I exit it myself.

The Arc Ultra receives Bluetooth audio. It cannot send Bluetooth audio to your headphones.

don’t understand what you mean. We should be able to get Bluetooth audio by bypassing the arc ultra. I know the arc does not send sound to headphones and stuff. But right now it won’t let me use the TVs Bluetooth, which I’ve used on my TV hundreds of times before I use the arc ultra. We need a way to bypass the arc ultra because it stops me from getting the sound from the TV  through Bluetooth. How can I do that?
thank you for your help!

Before pairing the headphones to your TV, try disabling CEC in your TV settings.

Thanks for your suggestion. I’m not familiar with what CEC is. Can you tell me what it stands for and how to find it?

thank you again for your time. I really appreciate it.

I am having the same issue with my new LG TV, with Sonos Arc Ultra whereby my Bluetooth headphones disconnect after a few seconds. The Arc keeps taking the audio.

i have tried to switch off Simplink but after a few seconds Simplink automatically switches back on.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can use Bluetooth and stop Sonos automatically connecting?

You need to go to sound settings on LG and turn off E-Arc in advanced settings, then go to HDMI settings under general and turn off simplink.  It's a ball ache. I have to do it 3 times a week when my kids stay over.   Infuriated me at first but now I'm used to it.

Or get a Sonos Ace and pair it with your Sonos soundbar.

From what I could find out by experimenting with different options in the menus plus seeking tech support from both Sonos & LG and, there is a glitch in the software where there’s no way to fix this at the moment, perhaps with updates from either Sonos or LG to correct this problem.

i have to say that really it’s their obligation to do so as their customers that have forked out decent amount of money to purchase their goods. LG in their menu’s allow for headphones to be connected therefore one would expect to be able to do just that.

lets face it headphones are a essential component to have in your system to allow private listening especially when you want to ramp up the voltage, my advice is to get onto both parties and request an update to allow you to get the most out of your system.

I have tried this option, no joy, perhaps I have a different LG TV, my model is the

LG 77 OLED EVO G4 4K UHD SMART TV 2024, I can get the headphones working when I disconnect the sono HDMI cable then using the TV Speakers option, but as soon as the Sonos arc Ult is connected the LG TV defaults back to the HDMI option out, no matter how many times you change it it resets back.

hope this helps, it is frustrating, the cash you have paid you deserve better.

CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) uses the HDMI connection to allow communication between HDMI connected devices. The goal is to allow the user to simply drop a disc into a player, for example, and all of the appropriate devices will power up and select inputs. Unfortunately, standardization is poor and there are glitches. One of my favorites is the middle of the night cable box update. As a convenience to the user the update will turn ON the cable box. CEC pushes this out as a request to watch TV and wakes the viewer.

Disabling a TV’s CEC option (whatever the TV manufacturer calls it) will often disable surround sound options. While some user conveniences will be disabled, a CEC blocker installed between the TV and soundbar will prevent nonsense and allow surround sound.

Thank you buzz,

I take it this HDMI adapter will be the answer to my problem, disabling the 13th pin by using this adapter ( BlueRigger 4K HDMI CEC Less Adapter (4K, UHD, ARC, 1080p, Ethernet) - HDMI Male to Female Adapter) if so that’s great, I’m  curious to know if removing the 13th pin on a male/female HDMI adapter will give me the same result
