Hello,

If anyone has had a similar issue let me know; I have a Roku TV hooked up to a Sonos sound bar and they usually work great, for about three years we have had great sound with no complaints. Today, seemingly randomly, I can’t use the TV remote to increase the volume on the sound bar anymore. It will only accept inputs for decreasing the volume. I have tried the following to troubleshoot:

  • Turned off the TV and left it off for over five minutes.
  • Unplugged the optical cable from the TV and left unplugged for five minutes before plugging it back in
  • Unplugged the sound bar and left it unplugged for five minutes before reconnecting
  • Changed the audio settings within the TV
  • Tried a different remote that is also capable of changing the volume

If anyone can help diagnose or resolve this issue let me know. My trust and respect for Sonos products have reached an all-time low and I cannot in good conscience suggest this product to anyone after this.

The problem seems to have resolved itself! The sound bar works just fine 24 hours later and the volume turns up fine.

Which Sonos sound bar?

When you ‘turned off’ the TV, did you use the remote/buttons on the TV, or did you unplug it from the wall?

Did you call Sonos Support directly to discuss it? What did they say?
