I just got 3 era 100 speakers. Returning to Sonos after a few years away. I remember trueplay tones being quite loud on previous speakers.  But on the era 100s it’s pretty quiet. Then I noticed that whatever I set the volume to on the speakers before trueplay is what the tones would play at. That’s not normal right? I’m not touching the volume after initiating the trueplay process. It’s not same for both quick and advanced trueplay, quick is louder.

what is the volume setting equivalent for trueplay so that I can be sure it runs at the correct volume?

thanks

As far as I’m aware, there’s never been a relationship between ‘current’ volume, and TruePlay tones volume.

But I don’t use ‘quick’ TruePlay’, which is based on the microphones in the speaker itself, I only use my iPhone and the microphone in it to do any TruePlay needed. I suspect the difference between the two have more to do with the microphone in use.

I’d assume everything is fine on your system, but if you’re concerned, you could submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of trying a TruePlay session, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, they get sensitive about GDPR.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
