The Sonos App is completely unresponsive. I have tried deleting app, reinstalling, turning off WiFi, turning on but the App still is useless for me.

What did Sonos Support say, when you called in to discuss it?

Without much information to work on, I’d guess the device the app is running on is either not on the same subnet as the speakers in some way, or can’t be run at all on the OS of the device. But those are mere guesses.
